Visitors are third parties that are not registered vendors and have no existing credentials. Visitors might be people visiting patients in the hospital, non-registered vendors ("vendor guests"), and non-registered contractors ("contractor guests"). All of these people fall under the category of visitor.
Visitors are checked in through Green Security's visitor management system on your facility dashboard. During a visitor check-in, you can select the visitor type: visitor, vendor, or contractor.

Check in a visitor
- On the facility user dashboard, select Check in Visitor or Vendor.
- Scan the visitor's ID or input their data manually:
- If you have scanning hardware, scan the barcode on the back of the visitor's driver's license.
-
To input the visitor's data manually select Manually Enter Data.
Note If you don’t have a scanning hardware associated with your computer, you are automatically redirected to the checkin form to manually enter data.
- On the New Visitor Checkin Form, verify the visitor's information is correct or manually enter the visitor's information if you need to.
- (Optional) If you have camera associated with your computer, select Take Picture to take a picture of the visitor's face or ID. If needed, you can adjust the cropped face in the image, or to recapture the image select Take Another Picture.
- Select Continue. Green Security performs several real-time checks.
- Any potential Public Safety Screening matches are displayed. If the visitor matches one of the results, follow the appropriate protocol for your facility. If the visitor does not match any results, select Continue.
- Any potential Internal Watchlist matches. If the visitor matches one of the results, follow the appropriate protocol for your facility. If the visitor does not match any results, select The visitor is not shown in the results.
- If the vendor guest has previously checked in at this facility, a "Vendor Guest Duplicates" notification is displayed. A facility can set a maximum number of vendor guest check ins allowed until the vendor guest must register with Green Security as a vendor (see Vendor Guest Limit Exceeded in Visitor Flags). Check if the vendor guest you are checking in matches the potential vendor guest duplicate and select the appropriate option.
If the visitor does not pass all checks, see the table of possible visitor flags to determine if there is any action you can take.
If the visitor passes all checks, they are successfully checked in. If printing is set up, a visitor badge is printed. If the badge didn't print correctly, select Reprint Badge. If you made a mistake during checkin and need to change check in details, select Start Over.
Tip The badge can now be scanned on the Visitor Checkin page to perform a Spot Check In, Spot Check Out, or Final Check Out.
Visitor Flags
The table below lists flags that can appear when Green Security performs real-time checks on a visitor. If a visitor passes all checks, no flags appear and the visitor is successfully checked in.
